Issue 1 of All Of It Newspaper for the 2026-2027 school year, Olivet Academy’s official school newspaper, is now out, bringing together the stories, achievements, and everyday moments of student life on the Amenia campus in September.
This issue looks back at a busy start to the school year. Readers can enjoy coverage of the school’s 10th anniversary chapel service, the back-to-school welcome, and what’s new at Olivet this year, including new clubs, sports, and the “Secret Angel Prayer Project.” There are also stories on Dover Day, the first-ever Student Government pictogram event, and a teacher interview with Ms. Lanigan, our new high school English teacher.
Sports fans will find updates on the Cross Country team’s fourth-place finish at the Storm King 5k, the Boys’ Soccer team’s first-ever season, and the Girls’ Volleyball team’s opening win, along with an interview with their coach and the list of upcoming games.
The issue also includes lighter features: a student comic, an August and September birthday list, a fun fact of the month, a dessert poll (ice cream came out on top), and a word puzzle to try.

Behind every page is the newspaper club, a group of student reporters and an editor who capture the events and voices that make Olivet special. We asked members what they learned and what challenges they faced along the way.
Student Reporter 1
What did you learn from being part of the newspaper club?
“I learned how important teamwork is when you’re putting a newspaper together. It takes good communication to share ideas and work together. I also learned how to write better articles and improve my writing.”
What was your biggest challenge this time, and how did you handle it?
“My biggest challenge was meeting deadlines. I always wrote my articles on the very last day. It’s still a challenge for me, but I’ve been getting better at time management by working on things little by little and asking for any pictures I need earlier.”

What did you learn from being part of the newspaper club?
“I learned how to write articles that are non-biased, because I usually like to write more personally.”
What was your biggest challenge this time, and how did you handle it?
“One of my biggest challenges was writing long articles, because I don’t actually like to write. I handled it by just continuing to write, and that helped a lot. Asking older students for suggestions was also very helpful.”

What did you learn from being part of the newspaper club?
“I learned how to write articles in a newspaper format.”
What was your biggest challenge this time, and how did you handle it?
“So far, my biggest challenge was finding photos for the article I was writing. Eventually, I asked around and got photos of the event, so it was a success in the end.”
Editor
What was your biggest challenge this time?
“It’s always a struggle getting everyone to do their roles and write their articles on time. We also had a few new members, so it was a little rough at first to get them adjusted to both the writing style and other factors. Of course, they’re still learning and growing, but that combination was probably what I found most difficult this time.”
From deadlines to photos to welcoming new members, the club is learning and growing with every issue. Check out the issue and see what your classmates have been up to.
