Olivet Academy Amenia’s academic advisor Sara Jacobs held a key meeting with faculty and administration to determine the objectives of the schoolwide professional development to be held in the summer.

Ms. Jacobs recommended members of the faculty to lead the professional development sessions during the summer, according to their expertise. She pointed out that the school has very valuable assets within its own faculty to contribute to the growth of each other, without the need to engage third party services at this time.

She shared well prepared documents and resources which teachers can use as a reference when preparing for the sessions.

The sessions will include Holistic education and Biblical Integration, The ESL Learner, Multicultural Education from a Biblical perspective, Effective Instructional Strategies in Math, Response to Intervention and Classroom Management among others.

In addition the last two days of the week will be devoted to administration training.

“We hope the week of professional development will help our teachers and staff develop to continue to build the schools in a way aligned with Biblical principles and academic excellence,” shared Pastor Claire.

The professional development week will be held from July 29th to August 2nd at the Amenia campus. The invitation is open to other Olivet Academy school administrators and faculty to attend.

Olivet Academy prays for a successful professional development week.
