To celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month, the K-3 students at OAc Amenia are participating in a fun and creative project—making their own piñatas. The children will paint and decorate their piñatas, filling them with candy in anticipation of an exciting celebration.
On Friday afternoon, the students will gather for the highlight of the week: breaking open their piñatas. This tradition is commonly seen in many Latin American countries during birthdays and other festive occasions.
While the piñatas being created this week are round and expected to be colorfully decorated, piñatas can come in various shapes and designs. When it’s time for the children to take turns hitting the piñata, they’ll be blindfolded, and the piñata will be moved to make the challenge more fun.
Please pray for a joyful and collaborative time as students and teachers come together to celebrate Hispanic culture and heritage through this special project.
