Olivet Academy’s middle and high school students recently enjoyed their first field trip of the year at the renowned Maritime Aquarium in Norwalk, Connecticut. This popular marine science museum highlights the diverse marine life and ecosystems of Long Island Sound, offering both educational value and engaging exhibits.

To ensure a comfortable and less crowded experience, the middle and high school groups visited on separate days. The school also prepared fresh sandwiches for lunch, adding a thoughtful touch to help students create lasting memories.

From the moment they arrived, the students were filled with excitement and curiosity. Many were eager for the opportunity to observe marine animals up close—creatures they seldom encounter in everyday life. Several students displayed strong academic interest, taking detailed notes to deepen their understanding of marine biology.

A major highlight of the trip was the Touch Tank experience, where students were able to gently interact with starfish, horseshoe crabs, and other small sea creatures. This hands-on activity brought the lessons to life and encouraged students to engage with the subject matter in meaningful ways.

The Maritime Aquarium proved to be an outstanding destination for Olivet Academy’s educational field trip, offering both valuable learning opportunities and unforgettable experiences. The school looks forward to exploring additional enriching locations to further enhance students’ learning beyond the classroom.
