Directors Pastor John Vivian and Pastor Claire Mendoza of Olivet Academy Amenia attended a Christian Leadership Network Meeting hosted by the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) at Gateway Academy in Staten Island, New York, on Thursday, October 24th.

The meeting gathered leaders from Christian schools across New York to discuss important issues impacting their institutions, including the latest ACSI research on artificial intelligence in Christian education, updates on public policy and legal advocacy, Biblical unity in a polarized culture, and stability markers.

During the event, the directors toured Gateway Academy, led by head of school Christopher DeSanctis, who graciously shared recent developments within the school.

“Meeting with other Christian school leaders was incredibly refreshing. ACSI is an organization dedicated to educating and supporting Christian schools in their missions. This conference allowed our school leaders to reflect on the impact of AI in classrooms, financial strategies, and ongoing court cases that directly affect Christian education nationwide. Leaders were encouraged to pray for the many schools facing legal challenges to their religious freedoms,” shared Pastor John.

“Because the administration focuses heavily on daily operations in Amenia, it can be challenging to see the broader picture of how Christian education is evolving. Conferences like this provide a valuable opportunity for leaders to connect, share experiences, and learn from each other’s successes and challenges, ultimately advancing educational development,” he added.

Olivet Academy Amenia hopes to implement some of the lessons learned and share them with staff and teachers.
