Olivet Academy Newspaper Club proudly hosted its inaugural Spelling Bee, fostering a spirit of friendly competition and excitement. Students eagerly signed up to participate, with separate contests for middle school and high school students, ensuring everyone had an opportunity to showcase their skills.
The event featured intense rounds where contestants displayed their spelling expertise, cheered on by enthusiastic peers. Three winners emerged in each category, with well-deserved prizes awarded to the top spellers. In the middle school competition, Marie Lee secured first place, followed by Jessica Xiang in second and Philip Zhai in third. In the high school division, Matthew Yu claimed the championship, with Abraham Bartovic taking second place and Andrew Jung finishing third.
The Spelling Bee was more than just a competition—it was a celebration of learning, teamwork, and camaraderie. Participants and spectators alike had an incredible time, with many students sharing how much they enjoyed cheering for their friends and being inspired by the contestants’ remarkable abilities.
The OAc Newspaper Club’s first Spelling Bee was a tremendous success, leaving everyone excited for future events. It was truly a day filled with fun, laughter, and unforgettable moments!
