Olivet Academy in Amenia recently embarked on the first field trip of the summer school program, providing an enriching experience for both middle and elementary school students.

Middle school students visited the New York State Museum and the USS Slater Destroyer. At the USS Slater, students dived deeper into the history of destroyer escorts by stepping aboard a warship and learning about the greatest generation’s fight for their lives. The experience offered a fascinating glimpse into World War II naval history. Additionally, the students explored various galleries and exhibits at the New York State Museum, where they experienced the art, science, and history of New York State in a fun and engaging way.

Elementary school students had an exciting outing to the Zoom Flume Water Park. Despite the short duration of two hours, the children made the most of their time, expending energy and enjoying themselves under the careful watch of chaperones.

The summer school program at Olivet Academy still has a variety of field trips planned, promising more opportunities for students to create wonderful memories and continue their educational journey in dynamic and engaging environments.
