Spanish Class: A Color Walk for the First Day of Fall
To mark the first day of fall, Spanish students headed outdoors for a color walk, identifying colors and objects around campus using their Spanish vocabulary. Students collected leaves, flowers, and even a few unexpected finds — including a grasshopper — placing them in bags to examine and discuss. The activity blended seasonal observation with language practice, giving students a chance to describe the changing colors of the season in real time.
Chemistry: 1 + 2 + 3 = Black!
Eleventh-grade chemistry students conducted their first experiment of the year this morning, exploring matter and change through a hands-on starch test. Working in small groups with safety goggles and gloves, students combined solutions in reaction trays, observing color changes as different substances interacted — including a telltale black reaction indicating the presence of starch. The lab introduced students to careful observation, recording data, and drawing conclusions from chemical reactions — foundational skills for the year ahead.
