As we delve into the heart of the school year, the students at Olivet Academy seized the opportunity to explore a traditional holiday celebrated by Asian people worldwide—the Spring Festival, also known as Chinese New Year, typically occurring in January or February. The students have enthusiastically immersed themselves in various activities that not only enhance their language skills but also provide a window into the rich Chinese traditions.

From learning about the significance of the Lunar New Year to discovering the art of crafting beautiful paper lanterns, each activity has been a journey of discovery. Through engaging in traditional Chinese calligraphy, the students have gained an appreciation for the beauty and elegance of this ancient art form. Additionally, the boarding school students participated in a Spring Festival dinner associated with this festive season.

Through these experiences, the school hopes to foster a deeper connection and appreciation for the diverse cultural heritage that enriches the community.
