Olivet Academy had the privilege of meeting with Amy Smith, the Dover Library Director, and Dianne Hudson from the Center of Compassion. During this meeting, they expressed their interest in offering valuable services to our school community. These services include bringing the Bookmobile to Olivet Academy over the summer and providing mobile medical services to Wingdale, which would offer free checkups at no cost.

They also discussed potential volunteer opportunities for Olivet Academy high school students, and both organizations emphasized that there are plenty of ways our students can get involved. The school is excited to continue our communication and collaboration with them moving forward.

“The librarian mentioned that she has noticed our students are ‘avid readers,’ meaning they really enjoy reading books,” said Elementary School director Claire. “She offered to bring the Bookmobile to Amenia’s middle school, Wingdale’s preschool, and the elementary school, at locations we specify.

She also mentioned that the library can donate many books to us. We can let her know what types of books we are interested in, and they will gather them and provide them to us.”

Additionally, they will keep us informed about volunteer opportunities for our students, not only within their organization but also with other local organizations. I am very thankful for their support,” Claire added.

This collaboration with the Dover Library and the Center of Compassion presents a wonderful opportunity for Olivet Academy Amenia, and they look forward to strengthening the connection with these organizations in the future.
