Dr. Wagner visited Olivet Academy and delivered a powerful, grace-filled message during Friday’s chapel service. Centered on Matthew 4:19 — “Come, follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will send you out to fish for people.” — his message emphasized the clarity and simplicity of Jesus’ invitation.
He urged students to consider what it truly means to follow Jesus, highlighting the importance of choosing Him above the many competing voices in the world. “Jesus is the only one truly worthy of being followed,” Dr. Wagner said. “He will never lead us to failure.”
Students were deeply encouraged to reflect on who they are following in life and whether they have genuinely responded to Jesus’ call. One student shared, “This message really encouraged me. A life of following Jesus is truly valuable and beautiful. I want to follow Him with all that I am.”
The student also reflected on a story shared about Vincent van Gogh, who, despite failure, found a new path that led him to become a great artist. “It gave me hope that even difficult situations can be used by God to shape me for something greater. I’m really excited to see how God will use me.”
Dr. Wagner’s visit left a lasting impact, inspiring many students to pursue a deeper relationship with Christ.
