Olivet Academy Middle and High School successfully conducted its first fire drill of the new school year. This was also the first drill held in the building that previously housed the elementary school, where the high school has recently moved in.

The alarm sounded at 2:18 p.m., signaling the start of the drill. As soon as the fire alarm went off, students, teachers, and staff promptly evacuated through designated exits according to the school’s egress map. They gathered in the open yard, a wide and safe area away from potential fire hazards.

While students and teachers waited outside, designated staff members checked the entire building to ensure that everyone had evacuated safely and that no obstructions were blocking the exits. Staff also conducted a careful headcount to confirm that all individuals were accounted for.

After verifying that everything was in good order, the school silenced the alarm and allowed everyone to return to the building. Despite the chilly weather following several warm days, all participants remained calm, orderly, and cooperative throughout the drill.

As a school devoted to raising Christian leaders, Olivet Academy continues to place top priority on ensuring the safety and preparedness of its students and staff.
