The future of Olivet Academy in Amenia athletics is already taking shape, and excitement is building across campus. Over the past two weeks, the sounds of bouncing basketballs and whistles on the field have marked an important milestone: the launch of our new boys’ soccer and girls’ basketball programs. While these teams are training now, every practice is focused on preparing for official competitive play beginning next school year.

Laying the Foundation for Next Year

The school has taken a significant step forward by adding dedicated coaching staff to help build these programs from the ground up. The girls’ basketball team held its first official practice two weeks ago, and the boys’ soccer team began training on May 26.

For these early student-athletes, this phase provides a valuable head start. By developing teamwork, improving fundamentals, and building conditioning early, the programs are establishing a strong foundation for a competitive debut in the upcoming school year.

Building a Strong Athletic Program

The introduction of soccer and basketball marks the beginning of a broader expansion of athletics at Olivet Academy in Amenia. The coaching staff is focused on building strong, well-structured programs that support long-term growth and student development.

This initial phase lays the groundwork for future expansion, with plans to develop a comprehensive athletics program that may include boys’ and girls’ basketball, boys’ and girls’ volleyball, boys’ soccer, and cross-country in the coming years.

Looking Ahead

With practices now underway, anticipation is growing for the official start of competition next school year. The school community looks forward to supporting these new teams as they continue to develop and represent Olivet Academy in Amenia in the seasons ahead.
