Olivet Academy Amenia Campus successfully held its Amenia Campus Cleaning Day on Friday, June 19. Students, staff, and volunteers came together with joyful hearts to clean and organize various areas across the school campus.
The Cleaning Day was organized not only as a campus maintenance activity, but also as a meaningful opportunity for students to serve their school community. As the school year comes to a close, students were invited to give back by caring for the campus that has been a place of learning, fellowship, and growth throughout the year.
Students were divided into teams and assigned to different locations around campus. Under the guidance of staff supervisors, they cleaned classrooms, organized library materials, moved furniture, collected trash, cleaned dorm and common areas, and helped remove large unwanted items from buildings. Some students worked indoors by organizing rooms, wiping surfaces, and moving desks and chairs, while others worked outdoors collecting debris, loading items onto trucks, and cleaning the grounds.
One of the most impressive results of the day was the amount of trash and unwanted material collected. The team gathered so much debris that even a 30-yard dumpster could not contain it all. This showed both the size of the task and the hard work of everyone who participated.
The campus looked much cleaner, brighter, and more welcoming by the end of the morning. From the gym floor to classrooms, library spaces, dorm areas, and outdoor walkways, the combined effort made a visible difference across the Amenia Campus.
The event also served as part of the preparation for Olivet Academy’s 10th Anniversary Celebration and the upcoming school year, when the school is preparing to welcome approximately 150 middle and high school students. Through this service activity, students were reminded that caring for their environment is also part of building a stronger school community.
Olivet Academy would like to sincerely thank all students who participated and worked diligently throughout the morning. Their positive attitude, teamwork, and willingness to serve were greatly appreciated. The school also extends heartfelt gratitude to all parents for encouraging and sending their children to take part in this meaningful event.
Amenia Campus Cleaning Day was a strong reminder that when students, staff, and families work together, they can accomplish something truly meaningful. The day reflected the spirit of service, gratitude, and unity that continues to bless the Olivet Academy community.
