Olivet Academy Amenia’s girls volleyball team made a triumphant debut on April 7, winning their first-ever match against Thrive Youth Sports in Fishkill, NY.
The match was played as a best-of-five sets contest. OAc initially trailed 1-2 but staged a thrilling comeback to win 3-2. Thrive Youth Sports is a church-based program affiliated with Fishkill Baptist Church.
This victory comes after weeks of preparation. The school’s volleyball team practices began last month under the guidance of Coach Andrew Leman, who also serves as the High School Social Studies teacher. Tuesday’s game marks another milestone in the growth of Olivet Academy’s sports program, following the recent launch of the boys basketball and cross country teams earlier this school year.
The school community is proud to support its student-athletes and grateful for opportunities to participate in competitive games with other schools.
Please join us in praying that Olivet Academy will continue to use its extracurricular activities to help students grow in their faith in Jesus, reflecting Christ-like character and giving glory to God as they represent the school.
