The Olivet Academy Calligraphy Club recently hosted a calligraphy workshop for children at the Amenia Free Library, providing an opportunity for local youth to explore the art of beautiful lettering while learning from talented student instructors.

Since its establishment in 2023, the Olivet Academy Calligraphy Club has encouraged students to develop creativity, patience, and artistic expression through the practice of calligraphy. Over the years, many students have refined their skills and used their talents to create appreciation cards, decorative artwork, and special projects for the school community.

After several months of communication and planning with the Amenia Free Library, the club was invited to lead a workshop for local children. The students enthusiastically accepted the opportunity, seeing it as a meaningful way to serve the community through their artistic gifts.

During the workshop, club members demonstrated calligraphy techniques, introduced participants to various lettering styles, and guided children through hands-on activities. The event allowed young learners to experience the joy of creative writing while providing Olivet Academy students with valuable leadership and teaching experience.

We are grateful for the opportunity to serve our local community through art and education. Events like this reflect Olivet Academy’s commitment to developing students who use their talents not only for personal growth but also for the benefit of others.

The workshop and the students’ efforts were also featured in a local newspaper article, highlighting the positive impact of the Calligraphy Club’s community outreach. We are proud of our students for representing Olivet Academy with excellence and look forward to future opportunities to share their talents with the wider community.
