Olivet Academy kicked off an exciting journey with its inaugural 5-week pilot Taekwondo classes, thanks to the dedicated voluntary coach from Korea. The school was thrilled to provide this unique opportunity during the afterschool hours, enhancing the overall educational experience for its students.
A total of 52 enthusiastic students, ranging from Kindergarten to 5th grade, eagerly participated in the first class on January 8th. The Taekwondo program is designed to be recreational yet focused on building fundamental skills in this traditional martial art.
The curriculum emphasizes both the joy of physical activity and the acquisition of basic Taekwondo techniques. The school aims to foster a positive and encouraging environment for students to explore the exciting world of martial arts.
“We are excited to introduce Taekwondo to our students, offering them not only a recreational outlet but also the chance to develop valuable skills,” expressed P. Claire, an elementary school dirctor. “The voluntary coache from Korea bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise, making this program a truly enriching experience.”
The classes will continue to be conducted with a recreational focus, allowing students to enjoy the physical aspects of Taekwondo while also practicing foundational skills. The school is pleased to offer this popular program in the United States and is hopeful that it will pave the way for more beneficial and engaging initiatives for its students in the future.
